Professor Ernest Choy is joined by Dr James Galloway and Dr Andra Negoescu to discuss the importance of immunisation in patients with RA, with a focus on COVID-19 vaccination. Together they examine the evidence on the effectiveness and safety of COVID-19 vaccination in RA patients and review the latest ACR and EULAR guidance on the use of the COVID-19 vaccine. Concluding the webinar is a 25-minute panel discussion where the faculty members share their experience on how to support patients through the vaccination process.

Dr Galloway is a clinical lecturer at King's College London and an honorary consultant in rheumatology at King's College Hospital. He runs the biologics assessment service for the rheumatology department and has specialist interests in the areas of inflammatory arthritis and biologic therapy, and also in sarcoidosis. His research group works on areas including pharmacovigilance, health outcomes and quality improvement in the field of rheumatology. Within his role for KCL he works in the CRC accredited King's Clinical Trials Unit.

Prof Ernest Choy is Head of Rheumatology and Translational Research at the Institute of Infection and Immunity as well as the Director of the Cardiff Regional Experimental Arthritis Treatment and Evaluation Centre at Cardiff University School of Medicine. He is also an Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at University Hospital of Wales and Clinical Lead of the Welsh Arthritis Research Network.

Consultant Rheumatologist and EIA Lead
Dr. Andra Negoescu is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. She qualified in Bucharest, Romania, where she started her training in Rheumatology. She has an interest in (early) rheumatoid arthritis, adolescent Rheumatology, biologic therapies, Methotrexate safety and tolerability, and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
